HOOD SUPPRESSION SYSTEMS

Why is a hood suppression system so important? There are over 1,000 fires ignited in commercial kitchens every day. Today’s high-temperature appliances’ use of oils and solid fuels make it essential that kitchen fire suppression systems stay in good operating condition; otherwise, fires spread and become very dangerous, and very costly. A restaurant fire suppression system is designed to provide fire protection for cooking appliances, exhaust hoods, and ducts as defined by the National Fire Protection Association NFPA 17A: Standard for Wet Chemical Extinguishing Systems, and NFPA 96: Standard for Ventilation Control and Fire Protection of Commercial Cooking Operations. Premier not only installs and maintains hood suppression systems, but also provides specialized services in them. These services include a comprehensive program that administers yearly inspections, emergency response, and a full complement of maintenance options. With Premier’s top-notch service and proactive program in place, your kitchen fire suppression system will stay in top condition allowing you to rest easy knowing that your property and people are safe and sound.

PORTABLE EXTINGUISERS

Portable fire extinguishers are your first line of defense in the early stages of a fire. Portable extinguishers must be chosen with the class of fire in mind: water, foam, wet chemical, dry chemical powder, vaporizing liquid and carbon dioxide.  We help you select from the six broad types of portable fire extinguishers to prepare for the type of fire you are likely to face in your environment.

CO2 SYSTEMS

We install and inspect CO2 systems as they are an excellent fire suppressing agent. CO2 is used for a variety of systems including total flooding, local application, and inerting. Because there are safety considerations when using CO2, it is best to have experienced professionals install, inspect, and provide training on the best applications for CO2 systems. Premier’s technicians will do all of this for you as your safety is our top priority.

FIRE EXTINGUISHERS

DRY POWDER SYSTEMS

We install and inspect dry powder systems. Premier recommends these because of they are effective, non-toxic, environmentally safe, and because they are economically friendly to install and re-charge. Pound for pound, dry chemical suppresses more fire than any other agent providing both rapid suppression and protection against fire re-ignition. Kidde IND systems use either Class ABC or Class BC dry chemical to suppress fire. The Amerex IS system uses our exclusive ABC (Model 555) dry chemical. ABC dry chemical suppresses more fire (by volume) than any other agent. ABC dry chemical has a quick flame “knock-down” and can help to secure Class A fires against re-ignition. Since many hazards involve a variety of fuel sources, our ABC dry chemical with protection against Class A (wood, paper, pulp), Class B (flammable liquids), and Class C (live electrical equipment) is the agent that is best suited for most industrial hazards. At Premier, we have the knowledge and experience to ensure that your property and people are safe and secure from any potentially dangerous fire hazards.

EMERGENCY & EXIT LIGHT TESTING

As a one source for your fire and safety program, Premier knows the jurisdictional safety requirements for every aspect of your organization. Our trained professionals are prepared to keep you compliant and safe. OSHA guidelines dictate that all exit routes have adequate lighting to allow employees with normal vision to clearly see along the route. Exit signs must indicate all exit routes. A functional test should be conducted on every required emergency lighting system at 30-day intervals for not less than 30 seconds. An annual test should be conducted on every required battery-powered emergency lighting system for not less than 1.5 hours. We’ll do the job right because your safety is our priority.
